Del Mismo Racimo is a genreless family trio that seeks to mix the genres with which (Victor Martinez-the father) grew up with. Those he used to educate his children (Gabriel and Gustavo Martinez- brothers and sons). They together with their father manage to merge those "vintage" musical genres with today's genres to create a different but familiar sound.

Since late 2019 Gabriel had spoken to me about the bands upcoming album and he presented his desire to make two music videos ahead of the albums completion. One For Tazas and one for Grietas de Oro. So we got to work designing and looking for a location. Our shoot date was in March of 2020 and then Puerto Rico went under strict lockdown and curfew do to the coronavirus pandemic.

When lockdown happened we decided to shift the concept of the videos from being shot on a studio setting to being shot completely outdoors. As June hit, restrictions in the island had softened a bit so we set a date and hoped for the best.

Grietas de Oro is a continuation of Tazas, and the music video picks up right where Tazas ended. It’s about accepting that rupture and its subsequent repair are part of our history.

We wanted to make Tazas and Grietas de Oro visually different but still connect them since they’re telling parts of the same story. Tazas was going to be 100% black and white with an aspect ratio of 4:3, while Grietas de Oro would bring color back into the visual language and throughout the video slowly expand into a more traditional aspect ratio. We did this to further expand the meaning of each video visually.

When Grietas de Oro expands into a wider aspect ratio it gives off the sensation of being able to breath after having spent the first half of this story locked in in that 4:3 look.
